Novamber 13,2018 We are looking for a Natural Scientist to join our team in Zurich. A central focus will be further developing the SWAT-CUP software, developing online monitoring system for Swiss Alps glacier. In addition to ongoing maintenance and feature development, you will join at the start of a major redevelopment of SWAT-CUP. Development of a new web application is planned as well as migrating the back-end to a micro services architecture. You will also engage in other development tasks such as developing hydrological and climatological databases for Switzerland, a web-based tool for modelling and visualizing glacier retreat in Aletsch and Gorner glacierized catchments. You will also be involved in Your profile Skills, Must • Have a doctoral degree, preferably in hydrology, climatology or environmental sciences • At least 5 years’ experience working with Hydrological model SWAT, and the Calibration and uncertainty analysis package of SWAT, SWAT-CUP software • Having a talented and passionate ASP.NET and C# developer • Be completely comfortable writing complex Python codes • You have experience in web and software development • You have experience with “Geoserver”, “ArcGIS”, and “open layer” • You have at least 3 years’ experience in JavaScript, SQL languages • Datawarehouse / extensive database experience both querying modelling and contributing towards the contents • Proven ability to quickly acquire new skills and become proficient in new technologies • You are proficient in English and with scientific writing skills in English Skills, Nice to have • Transdisciplinary research experience is a plus. • Experience with REST APIs We look forward to receiving your application including the following documents: Curriculum Vitae, copies of relevant certificates, motivation letter including short description of previous relevant projects/work experiences and contact details of three referees.
